Quality Specialist - SDS (Space & Defense) Projects

About the role

ABB's Measurement & Analytics Division, which supplies smart instrumentation and analyzers to industries such as oil and gas, chemical, power and hydrogen, is hiring a Quality Specialist for its Space & Defense (SDS) projects. The specialist independently ensures compliance with processes, standards and best practices, and oversees supplier quality.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with processes, standards and best practices, and audit projects, processes and suppliers
• Oversee the selection, qualification, evaluation, monitoring and improvement of suppliers, working with the procurement team
• Generate project quality plans
• Validate and approve design, purchasing, integration and testing documentation, and control quality during integration and assembly testing
• Take part in the Material Review Board as a quality decision-maker and help close out non-conformities
• Take part in the Configuration Control Board as a quality authority and follow up on design change implementations
• Lead and complete initiatives to simplify and optimize processes

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in science (or equivalent experience)
• At least 5 years of relevant experience
• Experience in a regulatory or standards-driven environment
• Willingness to travel occasionally
• French is required; English is also required to communicate regularly with customers outside Quebec

Required skills

• Familiarity with ISO 9001 standards
