Property Claims Field Adjuster (Home Based, GTA)

About the role

Aviva Canada is hiring Field Adjusters for its Property Field Claims team. The role is home based and open to candidates in the Greater Toronto Area. Adjusters inspect residential property claims, write repair estimates and settle claims.

Key responsibilities

• Complete on-site and/or virtual inspections of residential property claims
• Capture the scope of damages and write repair estimates to settle claims
• Reconcile and validate vendor estimates for price and scope
• Meet with insureds, third parties, witnesses and lawyers to gather facts
• Review facts, policy, technical reports, fire marshal reports and case law, then decide on coverage, value and settlement
• Provide customer service and keep claim parties informed of status
• Ensure data accuracy, issue payments to insureds, vendors and other insurers, and assist during Canadian Catastrophe Events (CATs)
• Correspond with third parties, lawyers, brokers and others interested in the claim

Required profile

• 2+ years of experience as a Field Adjuster handling Personal Lines claims
• Strong understanding of Property Insurance
• Preferred: ability to scope damages and prepare repair estimates
• Valid driver's licence

Required skills

• Good PC skills
• Adaptable to new technology
