Project Associate

About the role

Sense Engineering is seeking a Project Associate to support the delivery of structural engineering services across new construction, renovation, and restoration projects. You will work in a collaborative environment, gaining hands‑on experience throughout multiple project phases while representing the firm with professionalism.

Key responsibilities

• Design and analyze structural components for various project types.
• Perform site reviews, condition evaluations, and structural assessments of existing buildings.
• Conduct field reviews, prepare reports, and develop detailed analysis notes, drawings, and specifications.
• Assist in preparing project proposals and coordinate communication with clients, contractors, and consultants.
• Represent Sense Engineering at client meetings and networking events.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; a minor or Master’s in Structural Engineering is an asset.
• Co‑op or internship experience in engineering consulting.
• Eligibility for registration with the provincial professional engineering association.
• Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Valid driver’s licence and reliable transportation.

Required skills

• Proficiency with structural analysis software such as SAP2000, ETABS, SAFE, SpSlab, and the S‑Frame suite.
• Experience using AutoCAD or Revit for interdisciplinary coordination and drawing preparation.
