Experienced Hydrovac Swamper (Contract)

About the role

Sideworx Connect is seeking experienced Hydrovac Swampers to join its roster for short‑term and seasonal projects in the oil and gas sector. The role involves supporting hydro‑excavation operations and maintaining a safe work environment.

Key responsibilities

• Help with the initial setup of the hydrovac unit, ensuring it is positioned correctly and ready for operation.
• Manage hoses, ensure the safety of the work area, and assist in the proper disposal of excavated materials.
• Maintain equipment, perform routine checks and report any issues to the operator.
• Assist the operator in the hydro‑excavation process, positioning equipment, guiding hoses, and handling excavated material.
• Clean up the job site after excavation, ensuring the area is tidy and safe.

Required profile

• 2+ years of Vac Truck Swamping experience.
• Standard First Aid & CPR – Level CH2S Alive certification.
• Common Safety Orientation, Confined Space Entry and Monitor, Ground Disturbance, TDG & WHMIS training.
• Valid Class 5 Driver’s License with reliable transportation (asset).
• Ability to pass a pre‑employment drug and alcohol test.
• Must be clean‑shaven to wear respiratory protection.
