About the role
ACCIONA is seeking a Project Accountant to join its Finance and Commercial team in Ontario. The role will manage full‑cycle project accounting for large infrastructure projects, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with budgets and standards.
Key responsibilities
- Perform full‑cycle accounting activities, including accounts receivable, accounts payable, holdback accounts, HST filings, and accruals.
- Assist with month‑end and year‑end closing processes.
- Prepare and maintain monthly financial reports, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
- Monitor project costs, expenses, and revenues against budgetary constraints.
- Review and reconcile project‑related accounts, including general ledger entries.
- Collaborate with project managers to track progress and identify cost overruns or savings opportunities.
- Conduct regular financial audits and reviews to ensure compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Provide financial analysis and support, including variance analysis, cost‑benefit analysis, and cash‑flow projections.
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and regulatory agencies as needed.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
- CPA designation preferred.
- 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction industry.
