Accounting Administrator

About the role

The Accounting Administrator provides essential administrative support to ACCIONA's Finance team, ensuring accurate and timely processing of accounts payable and related financial activities. This position contributes to the smooth operation of large infrastructure projects across Canada.

Key responsibilities

• Process end‑to‑end accounts payable, including invoice entry, matching, approval verification, and payment execution.
• Validate vendor invoices for accuracy, proper coding, and compliance with company policies.
• Manage the AP inbox, route inquiries, and respond to vendor questions via phone and email.
• Reconcile vendor statements and ensure all payments are fully supported and approved.
• Track purchase‑order spending, resolve discrepancies with Procurement, and assist requestors with change orders.
• Maintain cost tracking, coding, and recording in the general ledger.
• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to resolve coding and cost allocation issues.
• Support additional duties as assigned by the Accounting Manager.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 + years of accounts payable experience, preferably on infrastructure projects.
• Diploma in accounting, finance, commerce or related field; bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Proven ability to handle a high volume of invoices.

Required skills

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas).
• Experience with SAP (asset) and familiarity with SEO tools.
• Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
