Accounting Technician

About the role

We are seeking an Accounting Technician to join our Calgary office. The role involves handling a variety of bookkeeping and financial reporting tasks to support our clients and internal operations.

Key responsibilities

• Calculate and prepare payroll cheques and manage fixed assets depreciation.
• Maintain financial records, general ledgers, and produce financial statements using both manual and computerized systems.
• Post journal entries, reconcile accounts, and prepare trial balances.
• Generate statistical, financial, and accounting reports, including tax returns.

Required profile

• Ability to work independently with strong attention to detail.
• Comfortable handling tight deadlines and working under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Reliable, organized, and a strong team player.

Required skills

• Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, Sage Accounting Software, TaxPrep).
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and the broader MS Office suite.
• Experience using Windows operating systems and standard office equipment.
