Production Supervisor

About the role

The Production Supervisor will lead the hourly team at Darling Ingredients’ rendering facility in Dundas, Ontario. Reporting to the Production Manager, you will ensure safe, high‑quality operations while optimizing resources across rotating day, afternoon and night shifts.

Key responsibilities

• Train, coach and mentor production staff, fostering a positive work environment.
• Manage scheduling, approve time‑cards, address employee relations issues and conduct performance reviews.
• Implement and oversee health and safety programs, conduct incident investigations and ensure compliance with Ministry of Labour standards.
• Monitor production metrics, generate reports and identify process improvements to boost efficiency and reduce costs.
• Guarantee regulatory and quality compliance with CFIA, HACCP and provincial environmental regulations.
• Collaborate with maintenance, quality assurance and other departments to meet production targets and support capital projects.
• Lead regular production meetings and training sessions to align the team on objectives.

Required profile

• 3‑5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Post‑secondary degree or diploma in operations management or a related technical field (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and quality systems such as HACCP.
• Excellent organizational, analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
• Experience using Oracle ERP systems.
• Familiarity with Kronos time‑keeping software.
