Product Engineer – HVAC

About the role

Napoleon is seeking a Product Engineer focused on HVAC appliances to lead the creation of new products that align with strategic goals while meeting marketing, sales, and manufacturing needs. The role involves turning concepts into production‑ready designs and supporting the existing product portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the Product or Engineering Manager in defining market requirements (physical, technical, aesthetic) through comprehensive research and customer interactions.
• Develop and maintain a detailed product portfolio strategy and roadmap based on market, industry, regulatory, and competitive analyses.
• Conduct benchmarking of competitive products and provide technical analysis of strengths and weaknesses.
• Identify product opportunities for new or redesigned offerings to address future customer needs.
• Define technical concepts that satisfy requirements, aesthetics, and target production costs.
• Review design progress, ensure design and peer reviews are completed at each stage gate and after test phases.
• Collaborate with Validation Manager and Project Launch Manager to guarantee on‑time, effective production launches.
• Support design for manufacture and design for assembly throughout the development cycle.
