About the role

The Westlock Elementary School (K‑9) in Westlock, Alberta, seeks a probationary full‑time Grade 1/2 teacher for the 2026‑2027 school year. The successful candidate will join the Pembina Hills School Division team, delivering instruction in a family‑like atmosphere and helping students turn today’s challenges into tomorrow’s successes.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver the Grade 1/2 curriculum.
• Assess student progress using assessment for and of learning.
• Implement Universal Design for Learning and differentiated instruction.
• Maintain a safe, orderly classroom environment.
• Collaborate with colleagues and participate in extra‑curricular activities.
• Communicate regularly with families and build positive home‑school relationships.
• Contribute to school and community events.

Required profile

• Valid Alberta teaching certificate.
• Successful classroom teaching experience.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a community school.

• Flexibility and adaptability to teaching assignments.
• Commitment to high expectations and positive home‑school relations.
