Private Tax Senior Associate

About the role

PwC's Private Tax team advises clients on tax planning, compliance and strategy. As a Senior Associate in Waterloo, you will join a team of problem-solvers and deliver personalised tax planning and compliance services to high-net-worth individuals and privately owned businesses. The role is newly created.

Key responsibilities

• Develop Canadian tax planning strategies for private companies, including compensation and distribution planning for Canadian-controlled trusts and private corporations
• Prepare and review Canadian income tax returns (T1, T2 and T3) for Canadian shareholders, and take part in work on tax expenses, financial statements and memo writing
• Compile client information and prepare client files, and document, research and follow up on clients' tax issues
• Coach and delegate to give others development opportunities, and propose innovative solutions to problems
• Verify the quality, accuracy and relevance of your own and colleagues' work, and communicate clearly and in a structured way

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or another field deemed equivalent
• CPA designation or in the process of obtaining it; PwC offers full training support
• 1-3 years of experience in Canadian corporate tax, tax preparation and due diligence; CPA In-Depth Tax Program levels 1 and 2 completed or in progress is an asset
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple mandates, with strong analytical skills and business sense

• Ability to work in fast-paced, multidisciplinary tax and advisory teams

What we offer

• Salary range of $50,100 - $83,500, depending on skills, experience, qualifications and location
