About the role

The Primary Health Care Nurse In Charge provides comprehensive primary and emergency health services to the Beaver Creek community in Yukon. Working on a 5‑week on/5‑week off rotation, the nurse leads the health centre while delivering direct patient care and supporting public health initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate health‑centre staff and daily operations.
• Provide primary health assessments, diagnosis, treatment, and emergency care.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate public‑health programs, education, and disease‑prevention activities.
• Participate in after‑hours on‑call emergency rotation.
• Collaborate with clients, health professionals, agencies, and the community, ensuring culturally competent care.

Required profile

• Registered Nurse (RN) licence, eligible to practice in Yukon.
• Experience working in remote or rural health settings with limited physician support.
• Ability to balance administrative duties with direct patient care.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
