Primary Care Physician – Canadian Forces Health Services Centre Ottawa

About the role

Calian is seeking Primary Care Physicians to join the Canadian Forces Health Services Centre Ottawa at the Montfort Hospital. You will provide comprehensive primary health care to Canadian Armed Forces members, working within a multidisciplinary team.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct medical fitness assessments for duty, including pre‑ and post‑deployment, periodic health assessments, recruiting medicals, and hazardous‑occupation evaluations.
• Diagnose and treat occupational and environmental injuries and illnesses, and manage rehabilitation plans.
• Establish and update Medical Employment Limitations, recommend sick leave, and adjust medical categories according to policy.
• Maintain occupational health records using Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
• Provide primary medical care for acute and chronic conditions and coordinate referrals to specialists when needed.

Required profile

• Provincial medical licence in the province of practice.
• Certification in Family Medicine (CCFP) from the College of Family Physicians of Canada.
• Basic Life Support for Health Providers or CPR/AED Level C certification.
• Bilingual in French and English.
• Minimum of 1 year full‑time equivalent experience in ambulatory primary care, occupational medicine, urgent care or emergency medicine.

Required skills

• Electronic Health Record (EHR) documentation.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• CPR/AED Level C certification.
