PowerBI Developer – Contract (Toronto)

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Power BI Developer to join our team on a contract basis in Toronto. The role focuses on translating business needs into interactive dashboards and reports that enable data‑driven decision‑making. As a subject‑matter expert, you will also advise stakeholders on best practices and new Power BI features.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with business stakeholders to gather and document reporting and data‑visualisation requirements.
• Design, develop, and maintain interactive Power BI dashboards and reports that deliver actionable insights.
• Translate complex business needs into technical specifications and data models.
• Optimise data models and queries for performance and scalability.
• Conduct training sessions and create documentation to help business users effectively use Power BI.
• Stay up‑to‑date with Power BI updates and recommend enhancements to existing solutions.

Required profile

• Proactive and skilled in Power BI development.
• Strong ability to gather and interpret business requirements.
• Experience acting as a Power BI subject‑matter expert and guiding stakeholders.
• Good communication skills for training and documentation.
