Postmaster – Community Leader (Full‑time, 21.25 h/week)

About the role

The Postmaster is the public face of Canada Post in the Sainte‑Marcelline‑de‑Kildare community. Reporting to the Superintendent/Local Area Manager, you will lead the local post office, promote postal products and services, and ensure a customer‑focused environment.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with residents and businesses to promote and sell Canada Post products and services.
• Secure suitable, centrally located, barrier‑free premises within 30 days of hire.
• Administer daily post‑office operations, meeting retail hours and delivery expectations.
• Manage postal revenue, assets, records and reporting.
• Assist with the effective management of mail‑delivery routes.
• Supervise staff, maintain a clean and presentable office, and may sort mail to postal boxes.

Required profile

• High school diploma or provincial equivalent, and/or experience in business administration.
• Owned or leased premises that are suitable, central and barrier‑free, available one month before start date.
• Experience interacting with the public in a retail or service environment, including sales and cash transactions.
• Knowledge of regulations, methods and procedures for processing mail and providing postal services.
• Physical ability to lift mail containers up to 50 lb, push/pull boxes, sort mail and stand for extended periods.
