About the role
We are seeking a motivated Postdoctoral Researcher to join a dynamic laboratory at McGill University. The successful candidate will lead independent research projects focused on mammalian cell biology, leveraging advanced gene‑editing and imaging techniques.
Key responsibilities
- Design, plan and execute experiments involving mammalian and primary cell cultures.
- Perform lentiviral transductions and CRISPR/Cas9‑mediated gene editing.
- Analyze experimental data and generate scientific reports.
- Maintain and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
- Participate in regular group meetings and contribute to collaborative projects.
- Train and mentor undergraduate and graduate students in laboratory techniques.
Required profile
- PhD (or MD) in a relevant biomedical field obtained within the last five years.
- Authorization to work in Canada and willingness to work in Quebec.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
Required skills
- Experience with mammalian cell culture and primary cells.
- Proficiency in lentiviral gene transfer.
- Hands‑on expertise with CRISPR/Cas9 gene editing.
- Advanced computational image analysis capabilities.
What we offer
- Annual salary of $48,000 CAD (full‑time, 35 hours/week).
- Fixed‑term appointment for one year with the possibility of extension.
