Physician – Headache, Obesity & Women’s Health (Part‑time/Locum)

About the role

Aurea Medical, a multidisciplinary specialty clinic in Calgary, is expanding its outpatient services in Headache Medicine, Obesity Medicine, and Women’s Health & Menopause. The practice offers immediate patient volume with full clinical autonomy and flexible scheduling for part‑time physicians, associates, or locums.

Key responsibilities

• Assess and manage migraine and other primary headache disorders, including peripheral nerve blocks, trigger point injections, and botulinum toxin (PREEMPT protocol).
• Prescribe and monitor CGRP monoclonal antibodies, gepant therapies, and infusion treatments for refractory migraine.
• Conduct comprehensive metabolic and obesity assessments, provide evidence‑based medical weight‑management, nutritional counseling, and manage obesity‑related comorbidities.
• Deliver menopause consultations, initiate and manage hormone replacement therapy, and provide contraception/IUD services where applicable.
• Maintain outpatient focus with no on‑call, hospital, or emergency duties.

Required profile

• Physicians with a focus on outpatient care, including family physicians, internal medicine doctors, anesthesiologists, or specialists in headache, obesity, or women’s health.
• Interest in developing or expanding a subspecialty practice within a referral‑based clinic.
• Appropriate training and licensure to perform the clinical procedures listed.
