Physiatrist – Inpatient Rehabilitation (Primary Care Physician)

About the role

Providence Health Care is seeking a Primary Care Physician with a focus on Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation to join its inpatient rehabilitation team. The role supports sub‑acute medical care for older adults recovering from stroke, orthopedic surgery, amputations and other conditions.

Key responsibilities

• Round twice weekly on assigned patients within a 10‑team structure.
• Participate in multidisciplinary team rounds and collaborate with physiatrists, allied health and nursing staff.
• Provide ward coverage for medical issues across teams.
• Fulfill on‑call duties on an average of one week in eight.
• Contribute to the unit’s high home‑discharge rate through comprehensive patient management.

Required profile

• Medical licensure certified by the BC College of Physicians and Surgeons.
