Pharmacy Assistant

About the role

Join a locally owned Shoppers Drug Mart pharmacy and help deliver health, beauty and convenience services to your community. As a Pharmacy Assistant you will support the pharmacist in dispensing prescriptions, providing excellent customer service and maintaining smooth pharmacy operations.

Key responsibilities

• Greet customers, collect prescription information and manage cash register transactions.
• Prepare, count, measure, package and label prescriptions following pharmacy standards.
• Enter new prescriptions and refill requests into the pharmacy system and manage third‑party billing.
• Receive and process new and repeat prescription orders, adhering to standard operating procedures.
• Answer phones, handle faxes and refer clinical inquiries to the pharmacist.
• Maintain confidentiality, privacy and accurate filing of documentation.

Required profile

• High school diploma; pharmacy assistant certificate preferred.
• Previous experience in a pharmacy setting is an advantage.
• Strong organizational ability and attention to detail.
• Ability to multitask and solve problems efficiently.
