Pharmacist – Specialty & Sterile Compounding (Calgary)

About the role

We are seeking a licensed Pharmacist to join a modern specialty pharmacy in Calgary. This full‑time, 12‑month contract role focuses on patient‑centered care, clinical pharmacy services, and both sterile and non‑sterile compounding.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee all prescription dispensing activities in compliance with provincial and federal regulations.
• Supervise pharmacy staff, including technicians, and manage workflow across production, order entry, and distribution.
• Provide patient counseling, clinical documentation, and pharmaceutical care as needed.
• Support sterile and non‑sterile compounding, including IV admixtures such as antibiotics and TPN.
• Maintain SOPs, quality standards, and validation procedures; monitor equipment and recommend improvements.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to resolve medication‑related questions.
• Participate in clinical initiatives and quality‑improvement programs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in pharmacy.
• Active license with the College of Pharmacists of Alberta.
• Strong organizational skills, high attention to detail, and excellent communication abilities.
• Ability to work confidently in a regulated environment and collaborate across clinical and operational teams.

Required skills

• Kroll pharmacy software.
• IV admixture and sterile compounding techniques.
• Injection certification (asset).
