About the role
The Investigational Pharmacy Services (IPS) Pharmacist at UHN’s Toronto General Hospital provides professional, clinical and regulatory oversight of investigational drug use across the university health network. Working within a multidisciplinary research environment, the pharmacist ensures that clinical trial medication management complies with Good Clinical Practice, Health Canada regulations and institutional policies.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain accountability for investigational pharmacy services in line with GCP, Health Canada regulations and professional standards.
- Review and interpret clinical trial protocols to assess medication‑use requirements and pharmacy feasibility.
- Lead and collaborate with regulated pharmacy technicians to deliver investigational pharmacy activities.
- Act as the primary pharmacy contact for investigators, research teams, sponsors and monitors on medication‑related issues.
- Support regulatory compliance, audit readiness and quality assurance for investigational drug management.
- Collaborate with IPS pharmacists across UHN sites to promote consistency, standardisation and continuous improvement.
Required profile
- Registered pharmacist with experience in investigational drug services or clinical research pharmacy.
- Strong knowledge of Good Clinical Practice and Health Canada regulatory requirements.
- Ability to analyse clinical trial protocols and determine pharmacy feasibility.
- Excellent collaboration skills to work with investigators, sponsors and multidisciplinary teams.

- Competitive hourly wage ranging from $48.51 to $60.64.
