Pharmacist I – Hospital Pharmacy (Fort McMurray)

About the role

Join the pharmacy team at Northern Lights Regional Health Centre as a Pharmacist I, providing safe and effective medication therapy for hospital patients. You will work within an interdisciplinary team, contributing to patient‑centered care and optimizing therapeutic outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Assess patients for medication‑related issues and develop comprehensive medication management plans.
• Participate in patient‑care rounds and collaborate closely with clinical teams.
• Review, verify, and process medication orders, including special access medications.
• Mentor new staff, precept pharmacy students, and guide Pharmacy Assistants and Technicians.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to professional accountability standards.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy.
• Current, provisional or transferable registration with the Alberta College of Pharmacy.
• Experience with computerized medication order entry and drug information systems.
• Strong English communication skills and ability to work in diverse teams.
• Physical ability to perform visual and computer work with occasional lifting, pushing or pulling.
