Cultural Communities Navigator – South Asian Engagement

About the role

The Alzheimer Society of Alberta and Northwest Territories seeks a Cultural Communities Navigator to support South Asian communities across Alberta. You will raise dementia awareness, provide outreach, and connect families with culturally relevant resources while working in a hybrid environment.

Key responsibilities

• Build relationships with South Asian community groups, seniors’ associations, and healthcare providers to promote dementia education.
• Organise and facilitate information sessions, workshops, and support groups tailored to South Asian audiences.
• Provide one‑on‑one support and navigation assistance to families seeking dementia‑related resources.
• Collaborate with the team to adapt educational materials into Punjabi and Hindi.
• Maintain accurate client records, manage referrals, and follow up on service delivery.

Required profile

• Post‑secondary education or equivalent experience in social work, health services, or a related field.
• Fluency in spoken and written Punjabi and Hindi (mandatory).
• Demonstrated cultural humility and sensitivity to diverse perspectives.
• Ability to travel across the province occasionally and hold a valid driver’s licence.
• Eligibility to work in Canada and a clear vulnerable‑sector criminal record check.
