Pharmacist – Clinical & Distribution Services

About the role

The Pharmacy Department seeks a qualified Pharmacist to deliver comprehensive medication therapy management, provide direct patient care, and support drug distribution across critical care, surgery, and medicine units. The role includes teaching pharmacy students, supervising technical staff, and participating in educational programs.

Key responsibilities

• Verify medication orders electronically and assess patients for pharmaceutical care.
• Identify, resolve, and prevent drug‑related problems; provide patient education and medication reconciliation.
• Support daily drug distribution, including weekend, evening, and on‑call assignments.
• Teach and precept pharmacy students, interns, and other health‑care professionals.
• Develop, revise, and implement pharmacy standards, protocols, and guidelines.
• Supervise pharmacy assistants, manage investigational, narcotic, and controlled‑drug inventories, and ensure safe disposal of expired stock.
• Provide drug‑information support to clinicians and hospital committees.

Required profile

• Registered Pharmacist with a valid pharmacy license.
• Experience in clinical pharmacy, preferably in critical‑care or acute‑care settings.
• Demonstrated ability to teach, mentor, and supervise pharmacy personnel.
• Current continuing‑education certification.

Required skills

• Inventory control of narcotic and controlled substances.
• Use of pharmacy information systems for dispensing and documentation.
