Payroll Partner – Analyst

About the role

The Payroll Partner – Analyst provides strong customer service and payroll expertise to the UBC campus community, ensuring reliable and accurate payroll processing while delivering Tier 2 support for complex issues.

Key responsibilities

• Provide Tier 2 support, troubleshoot complex payroll and system issues, and resolve incidents.
• Ensure payroll processing results in accurate financial and statistical accounting.
• Lead communication of critical dates, system downtime, cut‑off deadlines, and other payroll events.
• Analyze payroll data, generate variance reports, and conduct quality‑control reviews.
• Identify and implement system and process improvements to enhance data integrity.
• Coordinate and lead complex projects, develop business cases, and manage system upgrade initiatives.
• Provide training and orientation on payroll system features to managers and staff.
• Assist with reconciliation and filing of tax forms (T4A, T4A‑s) for year‑end requirements.

Required profile

• Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
• Completion of at least 7 of the 14 CPA academic prerequisites.
• Minimum two years of related experience or equivalent education‑experience combination.
