Payments & Banking Co‑op / Internship (Fall 2026 & Winter 2027)

About the role

Join the Payments & Banking team at one of Canada’s largest institutional investors for a hands‑on co‑op/internship spanning Fall 2026 and Winter 2027. You will work directly with payment workflows, technology platforms, and real‑world problem solving that moves billions of dollars for BCI’s clients.

Key responsibilities

• Build automated solutions to streamline payment and reconciliation workflows.
• Support end‑to‑end payment execution, including review and quality control of payment instructions across multiple platforms.
• Research and summarize emerging trends in payments such as ISO 20022 migration, real‑time payments, and open banking.
• Participate in application testing and contribute to procedure and controls documentation.
• Produce and refine monthly KPI reporting packages for team and management use.
• Contribute to ad‑hoc projects across the team’s active workstreams.

Required profile

• Enrolled in a co‑op or internship program for Fall 2026 and/or Winter 2027.
• Strong interest in institutional payments, financial markets, and operational risk.

Required skills

• SWIFT messaging
• Knowledge of ISO 20022 standards
