Part‑Time HCA Instructor (Blended Delivery)

About the role

Discovery Community College is looking for a dedicated Health Care Assistant (HCA) Instructor to join our close‑knit team. This part‑time position blends in‑person classroom teaching on Mondays with online instruction Tuesday through Friday, allowing you to mentor the next generation of nursing professionals.

Key responsibilities

• Facilitate student learning in both classroom and online environments.
• Ensure compliance with accreditation standards, regulatory guidelines, and college policies.
• Maintain accurate records of attendance, grades, and evaluations.
• Deliver lesson plans using the preset curriculum aligned with PTIRU compliance.
• Assess student performance and provide constructive feedback.
• Foster a collaborative and supportive learning atmosphere.

Required profile

• Minimum 2,800 hours of nursing experience, including maternity, mental health, or acute care.
• Current full registration with the BCCNM as an LPN, RN, or RDPN.
• Recent experience (within two years) in a long‑term care facility in Canada.
• Strong communication and mentorship abilities.
• Willingness to travel to local sites within the region.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Office 365.
• Experience using Student Information Systems (SIS).
