Parts Advisor – Automotive Parts Department

About the role

The Parts Advisor supports the dealership’s parts department by delivering excellent service to both retail and wholesale customers. This full‑time position involves ordering, inventory management, and ensuring parts are available for technicians and customers.

Key responsibilities

• Provide excellent customer service to guests and wholesale clients.
• Order, arrange delivery, and set up parts as required.
• Maintain minimum inventory levels through data records and visual inspection.
• Lookup stock numbers and pricing in the system.
• Advise customers on part substitutions when exact replacements are unavailable.
• Maintain secure, organized storage facilities for parts and tools.
• Keep comprehensive records for quality control, warranty, and analysis.
• Conduct periodic inventory counts and report obsolete parts.
• Issue parts to technicians based on requisitions.
• Support initiatives to improve customer satisfaction scores.
• Follow safety policies and report any accidents promptly.

Required profile

• Excellent customer service skills.
• Valid British Columbia driver’s license.
• Current knowledge of local parts suppliers.
• Ability to work cooperatively across all organization levels.
• Strong decision‑making ability consistent with job functions.

Required skills

• Working knowledge of automotive equipment, parts and accessories.
• Proficiency with computerized inventory and parts ordering systems.
• Ability to maintain records and generate reports using inventory software.
