Part-Time Produce Clerk

About the role

Join our Food Basics team as a Produce Clerk! In this rewarding part‑time position you’ll be the go‑to person for keeping the produce department fresh, well‑stocked and beautifully presented. Share your enthusiasm for fresh fruits and vegetables with customers and help them find exactly what they need.

Key responsibilities

• Unload shipments of produce, sort items in the backroom and cooler.
• Stock shelves and displays, rotating items using a first‑in‑first‑out method to maintain freshness.
• Create visually appealing displays and arrange produce neatly.
• Inspect produce for quality, removing damaged or spoiled items.
• Monitor temperature and humidity levels to ensure optimal storage conditions.
• Assist customers with product information, selection and storage recommendations.
• Maintain cleanliness of the produce area, sweeping, mopping and sanitising equipment.
• Perform inventory counts, restock items and report discrepancies to management.

Required profile

• Customer‑service oriented with a friendly attitude.
• Ability to stock merchandise, create displays and lift 30‑50 lb.
• Good product knowledge, attention to detail and ability to stand for extended periods.
• Retail experience is an asset.
• Flexible availability for days, evenings, weekends and holidays.
