Operating Room Nurse – Orthopedic Surgery (Laval)

About the role

Lacroix Private Medicine is seeking an experienced Operating Room Nurse to join its Laval surgical team. The role focuses on orthopedic procedures such as total hip and knee replacements, as well as a variety of other surgeries in a modern, collaborative environment.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain the operating room for orthopedic, gynecological, ENT, urological, general, bariatric, and neurosurgical procedures.
• Assist surgeons by handling instruments, sutures, and supplies while adhering to aseptic techniques.
• Monitor patient vitals and respond to emergencies, applying CPR and ACLS protocols when needed.
• Ensure compliance with AIISOC, CSA, and PCI standards throughout each case.
• Document surgical activities accurately and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.

Required profile

• Completed nursing training (DEC or Bachelor of Science in Nursing) with a valid OIIQ license.
• Minimum three years of operating‑room experience, including total hip and knee replacements.
• Current CPR and ACLS certifications.
• Fluent French and functional English communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal abilities and a commitment to teamwork.

Required skills

• In‑depth knowledge of anatomy and surgical techniques.
• Mastery of AIISOC, CSA, and PCI standards and aseptic protocols.
• Proficiency in CPR and ACLS emergency procedures.
• Experience with orthopedic surgeries (THR/TKR).
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast‑paced operating‑room setting.
