About the role
Canada Post is looking for an on‑call Post Office Assistant to join the team in Fortune on a term basis. You will provide friendly, customer‑focused service at the counter while handling a variety of postal products and mail processing tasks.
Key responsibilities
- Sell postal products and services to businesses and the public.
- Sort, distribute and process mail into the appropriate classifications.
- Provide customers with information, forms and guidance on postal services.
- Address delivery and service issues, resolving problems quickly and thoroughly.
Required profile
- High school diploma or provincial equivalent, with experience in business administration.
- Experience interacting with the public in a retail or service environment, including sales and cash transactions.
- Understanding of general or post‑office accounting systems.
- Physical ability to lift mail containers up to 50 lb, push or pull boxes, sort mail and stand for extended periods.
- Flexibility to be available for temporary, on‑call work.
