On-Ice Instructor

About the role

Canlan Sports is seeking an enthusiastic On‑Ice Instructor to deliver high‑quality hockey and skating programs across its recreational facilities. You will work directly with children and families, creating a fun and safe learning environment while promoting the company’s mission of building community through sport.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and deliver standardized hockey and skating lessons in accordance with Canlan’s program portfolio.
• Provide consistent, exceptional customer experiences for participants of all ages.
• Maintain equipment, ice surface safety, and classroom materials before and after each session.
• Collaborate with fellow instructors and management to ensure program quality and operational efficiency.

Required profile

• Minimum two years of experience teaching hockey or skating.
• Willingness to work flexible evenings and weekends.
• Strong teamwork orientation and ability to engage with children.
• Excellent communication, organizational and leadership abilities.

Required skills

• Solid understanding of skating and hockey fundamentals.
• Ability to develop lesson plans and adapt instruction to varying skill levels.
