Director of Learning and Innovation

About the role

Reporting to the Head of School and serving on the Senior Leadership Team, the Director of Learning and Innovation is a newly created whole‑school leader responsible for advancing a future‑focused vision of teaching and learning across St. Michaels University School. The role works collaboratively with leaders across Junior, Middle, and Senior Schools to identify emerging opportunities, cultivate partnerships, and connect students and faculty with authentic learning experiences beyond the classroom.

Key responsibilities

• Identify emerging opportunities in teaching and learning and translate them into actionable initiatives.
• Cultivate meaningful local, national, and international partnerships that enrich the curriculum.
• Connect students and faculty with authentic learning experiences beyond the classroom.
• Foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and professional excellence.
• Ensure new ideas remain grounded in the school’s mission, values, and commitment to academic excellence.

Required profile

• Accomplished educational leader with significant experience, preferably in an independent school setting.
• Advanced understanding of curriculum innovation, pedagogy, assessment, and experiential learning.
• Strategic, systems‑oriented thinker who is future‑focused and intellectually curious.
• Collaborative, relationship‑oriented leader who builds high‑performing teams and fosters trust, accountability, and wellbeing.

What we offer

• Salary range $160,000–$195,000 per year.
