Mobile Software Engineer - Android

About the role

TD is looking for a Mobile Software Engineer specialized in Android to join its technology solutions team in Toronto. You will design, develop, and maintain Android components that support a range of engineering programs and business initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Develop new Android components and small tools for assigned engineering projects.
• Support business enquiries by implementing enhancements, bug fixes, and source‑code changes.
• Collaborate with technology partners to ensure configurations meet performance and application requirements.
• Analyze technical requirements and recommend pragmatic engineering solutions.
• Monitor product lifecycles, update specifications, and redevelop components as needed.
• Document system architecture, security, integration, and operability for each program.
• Participate in quality management reviews and ensure designs meet requirements.
• Create and maintain high‑quality, defect‑free code following coding standards.
• Provide technical expertise during incident management, perform impact assessments, and communicate resolutions.
• Identify and recommend development and testing tools to support project objectives.
• Adhere to secure coding practices to keep applications free of common vulnerabilities.

Required profile

• Proven experience developing Android components for engineering or product teams.
• Ability to work independently and with internal and external technology partners.
• Strong analytical skills to translate technical requirements into practical solutions.
• Experience with incident management and root‑cause analysis.
