Member Reception Agent

About the role

The Member Reception Agent welcomes members and customers in a Desjardins branch, providing a courteous first impression and guiding them to the right resources. You will ensure a smooth flow in the waiting area, promote self‑service tools, and support sales opportunities while maintaining high satisfaction levels.

Key responsibilities

• Greet members and customers warmly, adhering to Desjardins service standards.
• Identify needs quickly and direct individuals to appropriate staff, channels, or self‑service tools (ATMs, online banking, mobile app, etc.).
• Monitor waiting times, observe reactions, and take actions to keep satisfaction high.
• Promote the use of alternative channels and assist customers in using them effectively.
• Schedule appointments following established procedures.
• Answer, route, and provide general information on phone calls as needed.
• Seize sales opportunities and reinforce trust in Desjardins by meeting member needs.

Required profile

• High school diploma in a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
• Minimum two years of relevant customer‑service or reception experience.
• Fluency in French (required) and good command of English.
• Knowledge of Desjardins products, counter services, security measures, legal framework, and internal controls.
• Understanding of cooperative financial‑service philosophy and Desjardins’ service standards.
• Ability to work with various distribution channels and to adapt to situational demands.
