Medical Laboratory Technologist – Part-Time

About the role

The Groves Memorial Community Hospital laboratory is seeking a qualified Medical Laboratory Technologist to join its team on a regular part‑time basis. This unionized position supports patient care by delivering accurate and timely test results across multiple disciplines.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine and specialized testing in chemistry, hematology, and transfusion medicine.
• Collect and process specimens, including phlebotomy, while ensuring patient safety.
• Maintain compliance with IQMH and provincial lab licensing standards.
• Document results accurately in the laboratory information system.
• Collaborate with nurses, physicians, and other health‑care professionals to support clinical decisions.

Required profile

• Current registration with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Ontario.
• Demonstrated knowledge of patient and staff safety protocols.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Consistent attendance and satisfactory performance record.
• Successful police vulnerable sector check and pre‑employment health assessment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in chemistry testing.

• Phlebotomy expertise.
• ECG interpretation (asset).
