Mechanic Helper

About the role

Westside Heavy Duty Repair Inc. is seeking a reliable Mechanic Helper to support its workshop team in Calgary. This full‑time, permanent position involves assisting tradespeople with routine tasks in a noisy, dusty environment while maintaining safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Move tools, equipment and other materials to designated work areas.
• Hold stakes during surveying activities and signal safety procedures to coworkers and the public.
• Assist tradespersons, apprentices and other workers as directed.
• Clean machines and immediate work areas to maintain a tidy workspace.
• Handle loads up to 23 kg (50 lb) and perform physically demanding tasks such as bending, crouching, and kneeling.

Required profile

• Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
• 1 to less than 7 months of relevant experience.
• Dependable, organized, flexible and a strong team player.
• Ability to work under pressure in a noisy, dusty environment.
• Willingness to work various shifts, including mornings, evenings, days and weekends.
