MEAL Officer - Water for Life Initiative
Global Aid Network · Abbotsford
Job description
About the role
Global Aid Network Canada (GAiN) is hiring a commissioned, full-time Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Officer for its Water for Life Initiative (WFLI). The role supports the design and implementation of M&E processes across projects, working with the WFLI team and field partners to measure program outcomes, ensure transparency and drive continuous improvement. It is based in Abbotsford, BC, with remote work.
Key responsibilities
- Cultivate a learning and accountability culture: develop a knowledge management strategy, share lessons learned, publish program briefs, learning insights and accountability reports, and promote open discussion of successes and areas for growth.
- Design and maintain the performance measurement framework, create project-specific M&E frameworks aligned with program goals and donor expectations, coordinate quarterly sustainability reports, conduct annual evaluations, and integrate spiritual and community impact metrics.
- Oversee ongoing monitoring, train in-country data collectors, analyze multi-year monitoring data, and set up feedback loops so insights are shared with donors, partners and the team.
- Use M&E data to inform research and development, collaborate with project managers on learning areas, and carry out internal and external research on WASH, community development and Christian development.
- Build a partnership team that provides financial and prayer support for the ministry, and take part in chapel services, prayer times and staff meetings.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree and 1-2 years of relevant work experience.
- Deep, growing relationship with Jesus Christ and a desire to see lives transformed by Him.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, organized, able to work both as a team player and independently.
What we offer
- Extended health and dental benefits and a Health Care Spending Account (25+ hours per week).
- RRSP contribution options with up to 3.5% matching after 1 year, paid vacation, and extra vacation week from Christmas to New Year.
- Weekly chapel services, free FamilyLife Weekend Getaway registration, discounts at the Resource Centre, and EAP access (25+ hours per week).
- The position is funded by a ministry partner development team covering salary and ministry expenses.
