Manager, Assurance and Accounting

About the role

Join MNP’s Assurance & Accounting team as a Manager. You will lead client‑facing engagements, provide tailored financial information, and act as a trusted advisor in a rapidly evolving reporting environment.

Key responsibilities

• Lead client‑facing engagement teams to complete compliance tax engagements, budgeting, internal controls and financial/accounting transactions.
• Deliver industry and technical assurance expertise through client interactions, reports, technical work, management presentations and high‑quality deliverables.
• Manage a portfolio of clients, understand their business and key risks, and identify opportunities to add value.
• Review financial files for accuracy and regulatory compliance.
• Plan and schedule engagements, monitor project financials (budgets, WIPs, billing, collection, variance recognition).
• Maintain quality control and apply specialized knowledge to anticipate and address client issues.
• Network in the local business community, pursue business‑development opportunities and contribute to competitive proposals.
• Mentor, motivate and coach team members, providing clear expectations, feedback and performance reviews.
• Travel as required.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Working towards a CPA designation is considered an asset.
• Strong understanding of business, accounting, management and practice‑development principles.
• Proven people‑management, relationship‑building and leadership abilities.
• Experience working with accounting and tax software.
