Machinist – Precision Manufacturing

About the role

We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our metal works facility in Etobicoke. The role involves preparing, setting up, and operating both conventional and computer‑controlled machine tools to produce high‑precision components. You will work in a fast‑paced environment where attention to detail and adherence to tolerances are essential.

Key responsibilities

• Compute dimensions and tolerances of machine parts and verify them using precision measuring instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts, and tables to guide production.
• Set up, adjust, and operate conventional and CNC machine tools, ensuring tools are calibrated and maintained.
• Fit and assemble components to close tolerances, documenting any deviations from specifications.
• Maintain inspection records and complete detailed inspection reports.

Required profile

• Secondary (high school) graduation certificate.
• 7 months to less than 1 year of relevant machining experience.
• Ability to work in a physically demanding, repetitive‑task environment with strong attention to detail.

Required skills

• Proficiency with micrometers and calipers.
• Experience operating conventional and computer‑controlled (CNC) machine tools.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints.
• Skill in setting up and adjusting production machinery and tools.
