Locum Emergency Medicine Physician – Penticton Regional Hospital

About the role

PRH is seeking a certified emergency physician for a long‑term locum position at Penticton Regional Hospital. You will join a collegial team of 18 emergency doctors serving roughly 41,000 visits per year in a well‑equipped, trauma‑referral emergency department.

Key responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive emergency care to adult and pediatric patients.
• Collaborate with specialist consultants and ensure double physician coverage during peak hours.
• Interpret on‑site imaging studies, including CT and MRI, to support rapid diagnosis.
• Participate in teaching activities for UBC medical students and family practice residents.
• Maintain accurate medical records and adhere to departmental protocols.

Required profile

• Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians of Canada – Emergency Medicine or CCFP‑EM certification.
• Eligibility to practice medicine in Canada.
• Experience in a high‑volume emergency department with trauma exposure.
• Ability to work flexible hours and provide double coverage as needed.

Required skills
