Life Skills Coach

About the role

The Developmental Disabilities Association is seeking a dedicated Life Skills Coach to support clients living in group homes and halfway houses in Vancouver. You will deliver life‑skills workshops, manage behaviour programs, and act as a liaison between clients, families, and community services.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare reports, case histories, and assess client eligibility for services.
• Implement life‑skills workshops and behaviour‑management programs.
• Liaise with families, community contacts, social‑service agencies, and health‑care providers.
• Supervise daily activities of clients, resolve conflicts, and accompany them to appointments and outings.
• Assist in evaluating treatment program effectiveness and support clients with special needs.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree.
• 2‑3 years of experience in community service or group‑home settings.
• Certificates: Developmental Services Worker (DSW), Non‑violent Crisis Intervention, First Aid, CPR.
• Valid driver’s licence, clear criminal‑record and driving‑record checks.
• Ability to work independently, handle pressure, and lift up to 45 kg.
• Strong interpersonal, judgement, ethics, client‑focus, written communication, and initiative.

Required skills

• Proficiency with MS Office.
