About the role
Gerdau is hiring a Licensed Mechanic for its Whitby shredder facility. The role involves maintaining and repairing shredder equipment on a straight‑day schedule.
Key responsibilities
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on shredder machinery.
- Diagnose mechanical issues and execute repairs to minimize downtime.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and use provided personal protective equipment.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and report any recurring problems.
Required profile
- Hold a valid 310S, 310T, or 433A mechanical license.
- Experience working in an industrial or heavy‑equipment environment.
- Ability to work straight‑day shifts and occasional overtime.
Required skills
- Mechanical troubleshooting and repair.
- Operation of industrial shredder equipment.
- Understanding of safety protocols and PPE usage.
What we offer
- Hourly rate of $35.14 (CAD) with overtime and double‑time pay.
