Legal Counsel – Ethics & Compliance Investigations

About the role

Enbridge is seeking a Legal Counsel to lead its Ethics & Compliance Investigations function. The role focuses on conducting sensitive investigations, advising on compliance matters, and strengthening the Enterprise Compliance Program.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct internal investigations into ethics, compliance, fraud, conflict of interest, and workplace misconduct allegations.
• Support the development, enhancement, and administration of the Compliance Investigation Program.
• Design and implement proactive monitoring initiatives in high‑risk areas.
• Utilize investigative technologies, data analytics, and trend analysis to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
• Maintain confidential compliance records in line with attorney‑client privilege and records‑management policies.
• Advise business units on ethics, regulatory compliance, fraud prevention, respectful workplace conduct, and the Statement on Business Conduct.
• Stay current on relevant laws, regulations, and standards, updating policies as needed.
• Collaborate with Internal Audit, HR, Legal, Safety, and business leaders to identify and mitigate enterprise risks.

Required profile

• Law degree and active membership in a law society or bar association.
• 4–7 years of relevant legal experience in private practice or an in‑house legal department.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
• Collaborative, pragmatic problem‑solving approach.
