About the role
We are seeking a versatile legal professional to join Nestlé Canada’s legal team in a dual capacity as a Paralegal and Compliance Manager. The role combines hands‑on legal work across marketing, advertising, IP, and corporate matters with leadership of our compliance program and governance initiatives.
Key responsibilities
- Review consumer‑facing materials (POS, packaging, social media, TV, store designs) for legal and policy compliance.
- Lead the drafting, execution and management of contests and promotions, including coordination with Quebec’s Régie.
- Develop and deliver training on ASC guidelines, intellectual property, comparative advertising and French‑language requirements.
- Draft, negotiate and manage marketing and advertising agreements such as sponsorships, influencer and sampling contracts.
- Support cross‑functional agreements including NDAs, supply and research grant contracts.
- Manage the Compliance Training Program, global communications and compliance dashboard reporting.
- Coordinate the Market Compliance Committee meetings, minutes and follow‑up actions.
- Oversee corporate governance tasks such as minute‑book maintenance, business name renewals and corporate resolutions.
- Design and maintain the legal group’s precedent system in SharePoint and manage the external spend budget and counsel relationships.
Required profile
- University degree and Paralegal Certification or a Certificate from the Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario.
- Minimum five years of experience as a law clerk or paralegal with a solid understanding of diverse legal concepts and procedures.
- Experience in corporate commercial work and intellectual‑property matters is an asset.
- Strong organizational skills, ability to multi‑task, meet deadlines and maintain high attention to detail.
- Proactive, forward‑thinking attitude with the ability to work independently.
