Lecturer – School Improvement Approaches (Fall 2026)

About the role

McGill University is seeking a qualified lecturer to teach the graduate course EDEM 693-001 "School Improvement Approaches" in the Fall 2026 term. The position involves delivering three credits of instruction on Wednesdays from 5:35 pm to 8:25 pm on campus.

Key responsibilities

• Design and deliver course content covering data‑driven decision making, intervention strategies, and policy translation in schools.
• Assess student performance through assignments, projects, and examinations.
• Maintain course materials on the myCourses platform and facilitate class discussions using Zoom and other digital tools.
• Provide academic advising and mentorship to graduate students.

Required profile

• Master’s degree (MA) in educational leadership, school administration, or a related field; PhD is an asset.
• Demonstrated expertise in theory and practice of school improvement approaches.
• Proven experience teaching similar graduate‑level courses.
• Background as a school administrator, institutional leader, or community leader in an educational system.
• Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in pedagogy.

Required skills

• Proficiency with myCourses learning management system.
• Experience using Zoom for virtual instruction.
• Familiarity with blended‑learning environments and digital teaching tools.
