Lead Operator

About the role

The Lead Operator will oversee all production facilities, including battery operations, compressor stations, well performance, and storage assets. Reporting to the Production Foreman, this senior position requires independent decision‑making, mentorship of junior staff, and hands‑on problem solving to maintain optimal field output.

Key responsibilities

• Mentor and train team members on operational, technical, financial and safety best practices.
• Monitor daily production, diagnose issues, and coordinate with cross‑functional teams to resolve downtime drivers.
• Supervise contract and maintenance crews, providing guidance on facility modifications, turnarounds and well‑optimization projects.
• Act as relief for the Production Foreman and lead self‑directed multidisciplinary work teams.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and maintain accurate field‑based data records.

Required profile

• High school diploma; post‑secondary technical diploma is an asset.
• Minimum 10 years of oil and gas operating experience.
• Proven leadership, safety record and ability to work in seasonal weather conditions.
• Physical capability to perform lifting, ladder climbing and work at heights.
