Lead Auditor

About the role

The Lead Auditor will join the Internal Audit team of National Bank, driving audit and advisory mandates while fostering knowledge sharing across the organization. This position offers a cross‑functional view of the bank and the chance to build strong relationships with partners from multiple sectors.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and perform audit engagements independently across specific sectors or processes.
• Identify and assess risks and internal controls arising from business activities.
• Select audit areas based on risk assessments and emerging issues.
• Present conclusions and recommendations to executives and managers, and draft comprehensive audit reports.
• Maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders and communicate audit scope, results, risks, and recommendations clearly.
• Represent the audit team on tactical committees and provide strategic advice.
• Supervise, train, and coach junior auditors.

Required profile

• Industry‑related bachelor’s degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, or master’s degree with 4+ years.
• CPA or CIA designation is desirable.
• Proven experience in internal or external auditing.
• Demonstrated leadership and the ability to influence at various hierarchical levels.
• Comfortable working in ambiguous environments and managing multiple audit files simultaneously.
