Lead AI Platform Engineer

About the role

The Lead AI Platform Engineer provides hands‑on technical leadership for the design, implementation, automation, observability and production readiness of enterprise AI platforms. The role ensures platforms are secure, resilient, observable and compliant with enterprise reliability and governance standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead engineering, configuration and operation of AI platforms to guarantee availability, performance and scalability across environments.
• Define and implement engineering patterns, standards and reusable components that support secure and reliable AI solution delivery.
• Drive incident triage, escalation coordination and post‑incident reviews to improve service stability.
• Partner with architecture, security, cloud and application teams to translate requirements into scalable platform implementations.
• Design and continuously improve observability, automation and AI‑Ops capabilities such as telemetry, alerting and anomaly detection.
• Maintain engineering and operational visibility of AI platform assets, ensuring proper ownership and lifecycle management.
• Embed governance, security, privacy and auditability requirements into platform engineering and operational practices.

Required profile

• University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT or equivalent practical experience.
• 7+ years of experience in platform engineering, SRE, DevOps or production platform support.
• Proven track record leading technical delivery, engineering standards, production readiness and incident response for enterprise platforms.

• Azure Automation runbooks, Azure AI, Copilot integrations, AKS, virtual networks, App Service.
• Observability tools: Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics, Grafana.
• CI/CD and IaC: Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Logic Apps, Bicep, Terraform, Azure Policy, Key Vault.
• Integration technologies: API Management, Service Bus, Event Grid, Apache Kafka.
• Data/search services: Elastic, Azure AI Search, Cosmos DB.
• Network and security platforms: DNA, Fortinet, Akamai.
