Kitchen Helper – Full-time Permanent Position

About the role

We are seeking a reliable Kitchen Helper to support daily operations at Airport Chalet in Whitehorse. The role involves handling dishes, cleaning, basic food preparation, and maintaining a safe, sanitary kitchen environment.

Key responsibilities

• Bring clean dishes, flatware and other items to serving areas and set tables.
• Operate dishwashers and manually wash, scour, and sanitize dishes, glassware, and cookware.
• Load buspans and trays, place cleaned items in storage, and keep records of food quantities.
• Prepare, heat, portion, and wrap simple food items; use manual and electric appliances to peel, slice, and trim foodstuffs.
• Stock refrigerators, freezers, and salad bars; receive, unpack, and store supplies.
• Clean and sanitize kitchen surfaces, cupboards, appliances, and equipment; handle and store cleaning products safely.
• Remove kitchen garbage, sweep, mop, and polish floors.
• Wash, peel, and cut vegetables and fruit.

Required profile

• Secondary school graduation or equivalent experience.
• 1 to less than 7 months of relevant experience.
• Efficient interpersonal skills, reliability, and ability to work as a team player.
• Physical ability to handle heavy loads up to 23 kg, stand for extended periods, and work in a fast‑paced, physically demanding environment.
• Flexibility for early‑morning, evening, weekend, and overtime shifts.
